Yeah! It's our 3rd year! In this day and age with so many scrapbooking blogs, it is great that we are still an active blog after 3 years! Sooo, thank you to all of our followers who have supported us!!!
We have a little blog hop going on today to help us celebrate! We hope you will enjoy and be inspired as you make your way through each of the Groovy Chics blogs! The DT will be showing special projects they have each made using the letters from the word "Birthday"!
You should have arrived here from Tammy's blog with letter 'R'! That means that I have the letter 'T'. I have a few fun projects that I made for you . . . I think I chose the easiest letter! hehe
So let's start with a TAG!!!
This tag was very Timmy inspired. I used my roller through distress inks for the background. I then stamped the flourishes with a distress ink, going off the edge of the tag.I had so much fun with this metal! I embossed it using my Cuttlebug. I then took some alcohol inks over it to add color. Then I sanded it back down so the embossing would show clearer. Yes, those are real birthday candles, wrapped up with twine and tied in a bow.
I then wrote out my sentiment and punched out a circle. I then used glossy accents to adhere it to the back of a fragment tag. Tied it on with twine and added some scrap ribbon to finish off my birthday TAG!
The next item I made was a TREAT bag! I took some candy hearts and put in a ziploc bag! Then made the top by folding cardstock over the top. I decorated it with some eyelets to tie the ribbon through. The heart was stamped and then punched into a circle, inked the edges and pop dotted. Then I simply used alpha stickers to say "U R A Sweet Heart". Fun gift for teacher or you could make smaller for classmates! Or what about just giving to that special loved one!
Oh, but let's not forget about a ceramic TILE! This is a 6x6 ceramic tile that I decorated to be used for home decor. I cut the "JOY" out of vinyl and adhered. I then hot glued the ribbon on and added the embellishments! A little bling of course! So simple!
Oh, and since you all know me so well, you know that you can't get by without some TORN PAPER!! Whether it's on a birthday card like this one or on a scrapbook page, torn paper is a must for accomplishing that distressed look! So here is my birthday card to IIG with some torn paper on it!
I hope you have found some inspiration with my projects using the letter 'T' from birthday! Now it's time to hop on over to Sheena's blog at
to see what she has prepared for you using the letter 'H'!
Happy Birthday If It's Groovy!!! I have enjoyed being a part of you for the past 2 years! Love, Heather
