Throwback Thursday!

Do you sometimes look back at your old layouts and think how far you have progressed? Most of the time when I do this, I see a huge difference in my scrappy abilities (using that term loosely!).  But today as I came across these layouts that I did in March 2012, I don't think my style has changed all that much!  Here are a few Throwback Thursday layouts for you today!

Always fun looking back at past layouts.  Love checking out the memories. Sometimes I think about what I would change if I was scrapping it now.  Other times like today, I think these layouts are perfectly fine and I wouldn't change a thing.

Bonnie & Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde had nothing on Gwynn and Payton!
Cousins and best friends!
They had so much fun doing this photo shoot for their senior pictures.
This is the 1st of many layouts I will be doing from this photo shoot because there were soooo many great pictures!  Can't wait to share more with you!

I used Echo Park papers with some ms sparkle & co doiles (with distress ink) and hearts.  Some balled up twine and paper studio tags.  Throw in some Pebbles corrugated alphas and my fave enamel dots to top it off!

New technique! I'm in love!

Gesso!
Who has used it?
This layout was my first experience with gesso!
I fell in love!
So messy, so fun and soooo much texture!

I used the November We R Memory Keepers High Five FOTM kit from The Scraproom!  Perfect for pics of my boys! Love you to the Moon and Back is something the boys and I always say to each other!  Used a stencil with the gesso to add some texture to the back!  Then I used Faber-Castell Watercolor Crayons to add some color to the texture!  I will definitely be trying this technique again!

What is your favorite technique to use on layouts?  I think I have found my new fave! ;)

218 Days Until Christmas

Really?
Only 218 Days Until Christmas?
Already?
Seems like it was just here!

So today I am going to share some Christmas layouts that I did from Christmas 2016!

This page was done using a kit from Clique Kits.  Lots of torn papers and some messy layering with a couple bundles of embellishments made this a very fun layout!

The following layouts were done using Flavors of the Month kits from The Scraproom!  I have a monthly subscription to their kits and they never disappoint!!!  4 kits in each subscription every month and they always amaze!!  Season of Love was made using My Mind's Eye Sugar Plum!  Love the little bit of bling in the papers!

Christmas Cuties . . . yup, my little men with Santa!
I used The Scraproom FOTM Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith CHRISTmas!
These papers were so fun and absolutely adorable!  Wanted to use all these pics so I did a 2 pager!  Doesn't seem like I do these very often any more but sometimes it's a necessity!  I love being able to carry over the page into 2!  And the white ink on black just drew it all into the green/black/white patterned paper.

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is opening one gift on Christmas Eve which is always new pajamas!  Love to scrapbook our traditions as memories for my boys!  I used The Scraproom Flavors of the Month Carta Bella Christmas Delivery to scrap PJ's Crew.

Tis the Season was a difficult page for me, though I love how it turned out!
I had a hard time with the angle of the paper.
Another FOTM kit Pinkfresh Oh Joy!
And I had so much fun making the banner using washi tape!

Who starts their Christmas shopping early?  Sure isn't me!
But these pages start to bring me some Christmas spirit!

So as we head into the summer . . . here's wishing you all an early, or late depending on how you look at it, Merry Christmas! hahaha

I love the Scraproom!

Have you heard of the The ScrapRoom?
You can find them on Facebook or check out their Blog!
They have the most amazing monthly kits!
I totally love them!
Inspiration galore!
The latest and greatest scrapbooking product!

So since I am catching up on a few months of not blogging,
I am going to share the layouts I made using the Jan.2017 FOTM kit!
Z&R (Zander & Roxie) was made using Jillibean Soup Hardy Hodgepodge.
Added in some of wood venears . . .my fave embellishments!

Sisters are Amazing was used using Pink Paislee Moonstruck.  Used watercolor crayons on the white cardstock.  Not very often I get to use pink, flowers and bling so I take advantage of it when I can!

Check out The Scraproom to see more of their amazing kits!

This Weekend!

Indiana weather . . . UGH!
It's camping season and yet every weekend it is raining!
I sooo want to be at the camper but I am at home and doing laundry!
But I am getting a little bit of scrapping in also!

Using the The Scraproom Flavor of the Month kit from May 2017,
I was able to complete 2 layouts using just 1 of the kits!
I used Pebbles Sunshiny Days to make both of these layouts.

"Go Forever" was scrapping my boys learning to drive the boat last summer.
They could stay out on the water ALL DAY LONG!

"Beach Boys" was done using a sketch, but main inspiration was a scraplift of
Rochelle Spears layout "Flamingos" from The Scraproom!

2 layouts out of 1 kit and all in 1 day!
Now to see if I can get more done today on this rainy day!

Basketball fever

Been super busy since this fall!  Lots of changes in the Guy household!  I have changed jobs, we had wonderful holidays spent with family, we took on an awesome Spring Break trip to Washington DC and I have traveled twice to Maryland for work!  So how much time does that leave for scrapping and blogging . . . well, honestly not much!  But I have been scrapping some so let me share a few things that I have done.  I will spread this out over a few blog posts so as not to overwhelm you! hahaha

My nephews varsity basketball team had an awesome season and I have been working on some of the pages from his season!  The basketball papers used are from Reminisce and I accented them with Project Life cards!  Project Life cards make for easy layering and so much versatility!

So without further ado . . .

As always, thanks for always stopping by!  If you like what you see, please comment below!  If you have suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Have a very blessed Saturday! ~ Heather
